Editor's Note: These articles were written several months ago, but I believe they bring up an important point worth discussing -- How can we pay our respects to the tragically lost when there's no safe way to prove it over the internet? What do we do when people say that they're dying? Can we be respectful and still reserve the right to rationally doubt what they say?

A while ago, I read "The Whyville Times" and saw a shocking poll which declared that BaByAnDiE has cancer and is only going to live for a only a year or so!!! I felt so bad I was about to cry! I went to the Whyville Directory and looked her up, and it made me even sadder. So everyone, please show your respect!! As for BaByAnDiE, it would be so great if the cure worked! I think we should have a day called BaByAnDiE Day, where we can all show our respect to that great Whyvillian.
Thanks for your time,

Hi this is Sonner to talk about something that kinda ticked me off.
A few months ago, I read a lot of petitions saying, "In memory of BaByAnDiE", claiming that she didn't have long to live. Then I saw her on Whyville, and went to check the last time she was here -- November 2nd (which is today, the day I first wrote this).
Unless she made a big recovery which nobody's talking about, I think it was a hoax for attention! Her city record says, "Well, I quit Whyville for a while, but now I'm back!" So I think this was all a big hoax. Maybe BaByAnDiE can write to the Times all by herself and explain to us how this happened!
I think lots of people felt sorry for her and made petitions about 'in memory of BaByAnDiE'. I think she owes apologies to a lot of people who signed and made those
petitons and paid respects for her.
