I was just searching through some past articles, and one particular article caught my eye. Articles, I should say, perhaps.

Published on November 29, 2001 -- well before my time for sure, and many other citizens, too -- the articles were printed in a forum-type layout. Each were written about the same event, with authors Bigfoot Bill, nautiegal, LilBeaut, and an unknown author. The article, as some may remember it, is "Clam Shower Forum."

Yes, the article may sound a little off the wall, but just as you should never judge a book by its cover, you should never judge a newspaper article by its title, if you catch my drift. So I decided to investigate -- what stories of the past might this article hold?

I read the contents closely, and learned how a very rare event occured in Whyville, exciting so many citizens and even a popular city worker (Bigfoot) to write about it!

What had happened? The great clam storms, where clams fell from the Whyville sky just like rain!!

Today, many citizens dream of this happening, but back then, it was a reality. Whyvillians could catch these clams, and they would go into the ledge in your backpack! Imagine how rich you could get, just by catching little gold coins from the sky. Sounds marvellous indeed!

Sadly, we haven't had any clam weather patterns since then, as far as I know. Neither clam storm nor shower has been reported in the Times, according to my research. Wouldn't it be amazing just to see such a spectacle!

If you would like more information on this event, I recommend you read the article forum, Clam Shower Forum, which includes many facts and figures, and even what some citizens did with their earnings. Who knows, maybe you'll get the chance to talk to someone who has been a citizen since 2001, and ask them if they had a chance to witness the storms.

Reporting strange events,
