WhyPox season is upon us. I have heard many questions about this odd infection so for all of those who don't know what in the world WhyPox is, keep on reading!

1) What is WhyPox?
WhyPox is almost a combination of a cold and chicken pox. You start sneezing (like with a cold) and eventually you get large "boils" on your face (chicken pox).

2) What are the symptoms?
When you first get WhyPox, you automatically start saying "Achoo." You can't control the sneezing, it just happens! About 1-2 days after contracting WhyPox, you will notice boils appearing on your face. They start out small and they grow. Eventually the boils will go down in size, and finally disappear.

3) How do you get it?
You usually get WhyPox by whispering to those who are infected. (Editor's Note: Has this been scientifically verified? I don't think so!! It certainly was not true of previous outbreaks of the Pox, though perhaps the disease has mutated....)

4) How can I prevent it?
Preventing WhyPox is a very difficult task. The easiest way to deal with the Pox is to just wait it out. Play some games and avoid the chat rooms, and you won't get infected. (Editor's Note: Unless the Pox spreads through Y-mail?) If you become bored with this and really want to chat, then most likely you could be infected. It's more fun to just have it and wait it out then to avoid chatting, though.

5) Is there any cure?
Sadly, there is no magic (or non-magic) cure for WhyPox. Many citizens put a paper bag over their heads, which, in my opinion, just looks silly. Some people may tell you that they have this amazing cure for WhyPox, but they indeed are lying. (See liv98's article in this week's issue of the Times for more on this.)

6) When will it go away?
WhyPox will usually fade in about 5-10 days. I have heard reports that changing your face parts while you have WhyPox will make them last much longer, but I am unsure if that is the truth or not. Try and avoid changing your face parts during the duration of WhyPox just in case changing face parts does indeed make them last longer. (Editor's Note: Others have said it's exactly the opposite, actually, so who knows what to do!)

7) If I have gotten it once, can I get it again?
If, during the latest epidemic, you contract WhyPox and in a few days it goes away, you will not get WhyPox again. If you had WhyPox last year or the year before, however, then you can still catch it.

Remember, just be patient with WhyPox. You just have to wait it out and it will take its course. Soon the Pox will be over and we will all be able to rest easy once more!
