As the countdown to the display begins
Children run back to their blankets and rugs
The quivering ripples of excitement
Can be felt among the crowds
The first firework is let off
A gasp of wonder erupts from the gathering
The firework explodes into a vivid and colourful detonation
The colors intertwine and fly around each other
Then spread out to create a willow tree in the starry sky
The sparks fade into wisps of smoke that blow on the wings of the wind
Never to be seen again.
