Hi everyone! It's time to talk about dog antics. Yes, dog antics!
Have you noticed how dogs do strange and funny things? I have!
I have three dogs: Goldie, Frisco and Smiles. Goldie and Frisco are American
Rat Terriers and Smiles is a Jack Russel. Frisco is a boy, and Goldie and Smiles
are girls. We adopted Frisco, bought Goldie from a pet shop and got Smiles from
my Aunt and Uncle. All three of them do crazy antics all the time.
First, lets talk about Goldie. She's the 'Queen' of the dogs in my house, and
she's about five or six years old. We also call her Princess Pei Pei (from the
movie Shanghai Noon). We taught her some tricks when she was younger:
1. Speak. Speaking is simply just barking.
2. Talk. Talking is a low growl that sounds like she's talking.
3. Shake a paw. Whenever you tell her "shake a paw" and hold
out your hand, she'll paw your hand.
4. Dance. When you tell her to dance, she'll stand on her hind legs and
dance in a circle.
Then we have the teasing. If you say stuff like, "Where's the cat?"
she'll start growling. She'll also growl if you say, "Where's Adam?"
(Adam was my sister's boyfriend. He teased Goldie, so that's why she growls
when you say, "Where's Adam?")
During the summer, Goldie likes to hunt flies. She'll see a fly in our living
room, and she tries to catch it in her mouth. She'll jump off the arm of the
couch into midair to catch a fly. It's rather amusing.
Next, we have Frisco. He was from Tennessee, so whenever my mom says, "Do
you want some grits?" he starts licking his lips and crying. Goldie and
he HATE cats and squirrels. We sometimes call Frisco "Bubba." Like
Goldie, he can speak, but his version of dancing is hopping around in a circle
like a bunny.
And finally, we have Smiles. She seems to like the word 'monkey', because whenever
she hears it, her ears perk up. My mom's trying to teach her to roll over. Whenever
Smiles is in the backyard and doesn't want to come inside, we say, "Don't
make me get my shoes on and come out there and get you!" My brother and
I also say, "I'm gonna go get Daddy!" I sometimes call her InuYasha
or Squirt.
That's all I can think of for my dog's antics. What crazy things do your pets
do?
May the hounds be with you,
