HAPHBAKED FOR SENATOR
Hey there Whyvillians.
This is HAPHBAKED here running for senator. I've got some ideas that I
think could make Whyville even better than it already is, and I hope
you'll agree with me. Here are some of my ideas..
First, I think that Whyville should get a bank. Having a bank would help
kids learn about interest and just how banks work to help them in the
future. Maybe they could even let you take loans and see how that works.
Having a Whyville bank would also help because if you had your money in
the bank and you needed a code to get to your money, if someone tried to
take your things they wouldn't be able to steal all your money. This
way, we would all be at least a little safer from scammers and hackers.
So, I think that the next time a new building is added to Whyville, it
should be a bank.
I think another improvement would be to make it so that during trivia
hour more people could fit in the room at a time. I'm sure everyone
agrees that it's really annoying when you try to get in 10-15 minutes
early so there'll be seats left and then it's still too full in the
room. I think that, if possible, the Greek Theater should be expanded to
fit more people and make trivia hour more fun, because that's the time
when the most people are there. One time I got up to the stage and
accidentally left. Then I couldn't get back in! I really wasn't too
happy about that. Luckily, I got back in after many tries and I got to
have my turn, but it sure was annoying having to keep trying to get in.
So if you want to have more fun at Trivia Hour (or just to get in for
once), this could help you.
I also received an idea from Gates85 for a personal notepad on the
welcome page. His idea was to have a text box sort of thing to type in
messages you want to remember. I'm not sure if this can happen because
it may take up server space like most things. However, I do think it's a
pretty good idea, and I thought I?d include it in my revised platform.
Also, going along with my idea to expand the Greek Theater and have more
events, I think there should be medals for people who attend trivia and
do well often. Since knowledge is rewarded on Whyville, I think people
who have often attended trivia and won or gotten far should get some
sort of recognition as well. This is just another idea to encourage
participation in Whyville and its events, by rewarding the citizens
commited to it with the recognition they deserve. I'd certainly like to
have a trivia medal :P.
In akbars, I think that there should be a description search. For
example, you could search for "blue hair" and it would bring up all the
hairs that fit the description. To do this, people would write short
descriptions for each of their parts when they finish making them. Also,
I think we should be able to search for face parts made by a certain
person. Sometimes you don't know a person's store and you want to buy
their parts but you can't. So I think that being able to search for
parts by certain designers would be a good idea.
I also think that city workers should try to come in and talk to the
citizens more often, but instead of doing it in club why, it should be
in the Greek Theater. If they expand it, like I think they should, it
would get more people to come and not everyone would be crowding all
around the city workers because they could be on the stage. This might
help the meetings be a little more organized and if the city workers had
something important to say they could just put it up in the middle of
the room for everyone to see.
Finally, I had an idea for the veteran medals. I think that the city
workers should really try to change it so that everyone will
automatically receive their medals when their account turns exactly 1,
2, 3, etc. years old. I think it's unfair for many people who have to
wait almost a whole extra year to receive a medal (myself included) to
get their medal. In my case, I had been on whyville for 358 days the day
medals were given out so I didn't get one. This means that now I have to
wait another year to get one medal when I should really have two. So, I
think giving medals out should become automated and this would make sure
it was fair for everyone. Even some our city workers suffer from this
problem as scyllacat has told me. So, I hope to change this and fix that
problem.
So those are some of my ideas for improving Whyville. If you think
they're good and you agree, vote for me please, and thanks in advance to
anybody and everybody that votes for me. Vote HAPHBAKED for senator and
Whyville can become an even better place for all of us.
P.S. thanks for taking the time to read this, I know it was long, but I
had a lot of ideas

Another idea I had to help newbies is to give any new members a
customized newbie pack. They would be able to pick of each kind of part.
For example they could pick one head, one set of eyes, a body, hair,
ears, eyebrows, nose, mouth, and an accessory. I think this would be a
great help to newbies because they wouldn't have to all look the same.
You all know what I'm talking about. Every time you go to grandmas you
get the same parts. That bubbly hair, rosie, jay leno, Portia, or jay
leno 2 heads, maybe "the moe", and some other parts that most people
don't want. Why should newbies all have to look alike? I think that to
help them have their own style, newbies should get to pick one of each
kind of part and that way they'll have at least a decent face and won't
look like everybody else.

Editor's Note: This is one of the top three platforms selected by Whyville citizens over the last ten days or so, chosen in the new Senate Primary! Read New Senate Race! to learn more about the new system. You can also check out last year's The Senate Race! by City Hall to start with the basics of a Senate Race.
This article is HAPHBAKED's Senate Platform. Post your questions for HAPHBAKED in the BBS below. He may answer them, or City Workers may use your questions for the Whyville Senator Debate, to be hosted by City Hall in the Greek Theater.
Rule number one: Keep it polite. Asking pointed questions is one thing. Attacking is another, so please understand the difference. Overly nasty posts can be 911-reported.
Rule number two: Stick with the candidate the BBS is about. Don't rave about your favorite candidate in someone else's BBS, please. Don't diss another candidate, either.
That's all! Now, let's get political!
