Hello, fellow Whyvillians. I'm here today to bring you this story about what's
really going on in Whyville. I interviewed the president/captain of each of
these private clubs in Whyville, groups that you may not have been aware of
until now.
After reading this article, you may be interested in joining
one or two of these clubs. The leaders of the clubs I'm mentioning today told
me that they would always welcome new members, but they ask that you think about
it first. Be sure you are actually serious about joining. Joining a club requires
many things, including being able to make your schedule fit the practices or
meetings. You'll need to be able to take on responsibilities if you have a job
in the club or even if you're just a regular member.
I did these three interviews via Y-mail.
Angelshaw, Captain of the Cheerleading Squad
Artista: When did you decide to begin this club
and why?
Angelshaw: Well, I began my squad in early April. I think it is
a fun thing to do and is a great hobby... girls like me should love to cheer!
Artista: What do you do during your practices/meetings?
Angelshaw: Well, we practice cheers, but mostly routines for competitions,
because that is what we do, compete.
Artista: How do you recruit people to join your
club?
Angelshaw: Well, I will ask girls on my squad and say, 'Do you
know anyone who wants to compete for cheerleading?' Then they will try out,
or just spread the word to everyone. Whoever says, 'Yeah,' will have to try
out first. Then if they make it, that's cool, but some people don't and they
are upset, but I tell them and it is true that I will give them another chance
soon.
Artista: How do you elect captains, co-captains,
etc.?
Angelshaw: Well, I got elected by votes, but the same is true
for co-captain, and I see if I think that person can take that job and do a
good job. If I think that person cannot do that job, I will not say who won,
but we will have to re-do the vote the same way as though someone tied.
Artista: Were do you have your practices/meetings?
Angelshaw: Well, we don't usually tell, because it is a secret.
Artista: Thank you so much for letting me interview
you!
Kimker, President of the Harry Potter Fan Club
Artista: When did you decide to start your club
and why?
Kimker: I started the club quite a while ago. I'm the world's
biggest Harry Potter fanatic. *evil grin*
Artista: What do you usually do during your meetings?
Kimker: The sad truth is we've done nothing lately, since nobody
shows up for the meetings. *hint hint!*
Artista: How do you recruit people to join your
club?
Kimker: Well, we don't have an official recruiting system. I pretty
much wait until I get applicants through Y-mail.
Artista: How do you elect presidents, vice-presidents,
etc.?
Kimker: I choose those people I think are the most reliable and/or
because they've come to the most meetings.
Artista: Where do you usually have your meetings?
Kimker: Fresno, California. Get there via Warp Wagon! =)
Artista: Thank you so much for letting me interview
you!
Flossy101: The Captain of the Dance-Squad
Artista: When did you start your squad and why?
Flossy101: About one month ago.
Artista: What do you usually do during your practices?
Flossy101: We'll perform.
Artista: How do you recruit people to join your
squad?
Flossy101: e'll see ef they leten
(Author's Note: Tell me if you have any idea what she meant there.
I have no idea.)
Artista: How do you elect captains, co-captains,
etc.?
Flossy101: The person that I trust the most, I pick.
Artista: Where do you usually have your practices?
Flossy101: Many places -- Sun Spot, Mars and WASA.
Artista: Thank you so much for letting me interview
you!
Thanks so much for reading these three interviews. I hope that it inspired you
to join one of these groups, find another one, or create your own club!
