Hello, my fellow Whyvillians! Today I am here to talk about the very popular band Nickelback. I really like this band, and I thought it should be appreciated by other Whyvillians. I first discovered Nickelback in the summer of 2004. I saw their music video "Someday." As soon as I saw that video two things crossed my mind: One was, "Oh my gosh that lead singer is hot!" and, "Wow they have great voices! I'm buying that CD." Three hours later I had the CD, and I couldn't believe how good it sounded. This is now my favorite band, and hopefully with this article it will make it yours to.
I know what you're wondering . . . how did they get their name, Nickelback. Mike Kroeger (Chad's brother, who is also in the band) worked at Starbucks coffee, and the coffee was always $1.45. So he always got a nickel back when he paid $1.50. So he told Chad (the lead singer) about the name and he said it would be great. That's how they have that name. Nickelback was first discovered on September 12th, 2002. But they were not discovered as Nickelback, Chad was on Theory of a Deadman's record label, so he then made the band Nickelback . And now they are very popular.

Chad was born November 15th, 1974, in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. His favorite food is sushi. His favorite color is blue. His favorite band is Big Wreck. His favorite city is Vancouver, Canada (That's where he is living now with his wife MarriAnne Kroeger). His favorite musical artist is Sheryl Crow (Sheryl has a new CD out called WildFlower). And last, but not least, his favorite movie is Almost Famous.
Guitarist - Ryan Peake
This talented guitarist sings with Chad. He also does the vocals with him. Ryan was born on March 1, 1974, in Brooks, Alberta, Canada. When he was 14 he, his brother, mother, and father moved to Hanna, Alberta, Canada where he attended J.C. Chark School. He met Chad Kroeger, and his brother Mike Kroeger in 6th grade. They all became friends, but they got into fights at school. But doesn't everyone?
Bass - Mike Kroeger
Mike Kroeger is the one who worked at Starbucks and got fired for telling the boss something not appropriate for this article. If it wasn't for Mike, Nickelback wouldn't have that cool name, that's scary, lol. Mike plays the bass (that means he is one of the head guitarist). He is very talented, and plays great! He was born November 15, 1974, in Hanna, Alberta, Canada.
Drummer - Daniel Adair
This talented drummer is one of the best I've ever heard! He is amazing. He makes Nickelback sound even better in person! He was a previous drummer for the band 3 doors down, but he moved up to Nickelback. He was born March 1, 1973, in Hanna, Alberta, Canada (like Chad and Mike). He also attended J.C. Chark School, where he met Chad, Mike, and Ryan.
