Many of you may have heard the big controversy over Myspace. Maybe even you have one! Since I do, I want to write this article about my reaction towards the Myspace controversy.

Myspace is a place for teens to interact. You can post pictures and have friends. Friends are other people who have myspaces that can comment you, your pictures, and your blogs. In order to have friends, you need to request an add to their friend's list, or accept the person who requested you.

Your mypspace profile is very interesting. You can write about you, your interests, music, movies, who you'd like to meet, and other things.

You can even have music in your profile. You can go to a Band's myspace (a myspace page for bands who can post music and their upcoming shows) and actually put a song from them in your profile. You can also go to any music video site and copy the code to put into your profile.

You can have your own unique layout and everything.

It can teach people HTML and other scripting codes.

Myspace is fun, indeed.

Why are people against the website all of a sudden?

Well, parents and adults are finding out about myspace. They are saying teenagers are posting personal information on them and anyone can read them.

I agree with that, but I don't agree that everyone does it. I have a myspace. I am myspace addicted and I know never to post personal information on any site. If you have a myspace, I urge you to delete any personal information now. Anybody can read it unless your profile was put to private but delete it anyway. Never give out personal information over the web.

Another thing they are saying is that teens and minors can easily access inappropriate material.

I absolutely agree here, but anybody that posts inappropriate material can have their myspace deleted by the workers.

The only thing I disagree with is that the internet is big. Really, really big. Anybody can look up inappropriate material on AOL, or Internet Explorer, without or without a myspace account.

What I'm trying to say is, be safe. And don't post any personal information.

Also, I don't think I should be forced off myspace which some people are trying to do. I think teens everywere should have a right to go on. It gives people the right to communicate with friends they may not be able to keep in touch with.

For now,
Ozzy111.
