Hey Whyville! Now, most of Whyville's population is mainly around 9-16 year-olds. It's also mostly girls. But since those ages are where you really start to grow, I thought I would take you through what it takes while becoming a teen. First of in this short series of articles, we will discuss acne.
Have you ever felt that someone was staring at the middle of your face, while in a conversation? I have. You get that feeling that you should just put a bag on your head, because you know for a fact that they are just staring at those disgusting pimples of yours. For most, this is the most frustrating part of growing. It's hard to wake up, climb out of bed, rush over to the bathroom and find acne all over your face.
Acne is almost everybody's nightmare. These pimples don't usually start popping up until you are 12 or older. Acne is just a short word for plugged pores. If you do not take care of your face, these ugly pimples will sprout, and though you can't always stop it completely, there are ways to prevent it.
Here are a few of ways to try to stay away from acne problems:
1. Wash your face everyday, because this will clean your face so your pores don't clog from sweat or dirt.
2. Buy acne cream, since they are made especially for acne, and it will get deeper into the pores, where plain water can't get to.
3. Of course, being a teen means using styling gel or hairspray, just to look good. Keep these products away from your face when you are applying them. You can put a face cloth over your face to protect it.
Those are just a few ways to keep the pimples away. Though I am a boy, and these topics are mostly discussed amongst girls, it is still important no matter what gender you are to keep it clean. Also, please remember to read the labels or fine print before buying face products.
Use these tips, and you will keep your face looking fresh and healthy! Watch out for the next issue of the Whyville Times for more of Becoming a Teen!
