Author's Note: This article is to share my thoughts and feelings about gay people. If you're under 13, you probably want your parents to aprove it first. Please remain respectful in the BBS.
Gay pride. A quite controversial topic to talk about, isn't it?
According to my dictionary, the term "gay" stands for "happiness". The correct term for a "gay" person, is homosexual, which means (paraphrasing) someone who is attracted to people of its same sex.
Do you know why homosexuals are called "gays"? Well, homosexual people are called gay, because they are so peppy, and bubbly, but what our generations don't understand, is that gay people pretend to be happy. They pretend to be happy, because they really aren't. Who is happy to have to deal with the government, discrimination, margination? Nobody will be happy with that. But they seem happy, because they want to show us a really valuable lesson: we are all the same.
We are all the same no matter our race, skin color, nationality, sexual orientation, etc. We have no right, according to the Constitution of the United States of America, we have no right to discriminate against anyone. So why do we have to ban gay people from our society if we are all the same?
I am straight myself, but I don't share the general population of straight people's feelings about homosexuality.
I have gay and bisexual friends, and all of them are great people. They are the greatest friends I've ever had, and being gay or bisexual doesn't mean they're bad people, in fact, they can be the greatest people you'll meet, because they have learned to accept everyone no matter how they are, how the look, how they act, how they dress or how they talk.
I don't intend to change anyone's opinions. I'm just sharing mine.
Going to talk on the phone with my friend Lance.
