PANDEMIC
I hear it whistle
I hear it move
Between my fingers
And in between my toes
Grains of sand
Sands of Egypt
Soiling my hair
And begriming my jewels
It creeps up my throne
Neglecting to bow
Nor kiss my feet
It binds my wrists
And strains my neck
So I try to escape
"Head for the pyramids," they say
Crypts of our forefathers
"And pray to the ancestors"
But the Nile is unruly
And I am in rule
Nature is rioting
History is changing
And Man is running
It's coming down now
The stones, the reign
Beating hard on the desert sand
The Nile is crying
The Nile is bleeding
And raining on my reign
