You could barely hear the tap our bare feet produced against the cold pavement of the dark street. All three of us ran hunched over trying to avoid all prying eyes. As Will and I followed Arthur, I couldn't help but notice his resemblance to the Hunchback of Notre Dame at that moment. He was the largest of the three. I couldn't believe what we were about to do. Only thirty minutes ago we were all lying around at my house trying to decide what to do, when the brilliant idea hit me. I quickly sat down at my computer and pulled up Google Maps. It's an amazing thing, Google. I could see the whole town on my dinky screen, as if I were flying just above it. I pulled up our town and began looking for a Target. Within the next ten minutes I had found the perfect street. It was full of expensive houses, and with expensive houses came enormous inground pools.

"Hurry up!" I yelled at Will as we neared our first victim. There it was 10 feet in front of us, a giant mass of glistening water. "Coast is clear", Will exclaimed, as he observed the house in front of us. On the count of three we held our breaths and jumped in. It felt so good to swim again. Even though I had swum a couple days before, it felt as if it had been an eternity. "Check out the pool next door!" I said. I was standing on the diving board which allowed me to see over the fence. Seeing that it was much better than the one we were in, we decided to continue down the street.

For a brief moment, we stood by the new pool, taking in the colorful flashing lights that were illuminating the water. As I dipped my foot in the water, I noticed that it was being heated. It was as if someone had prepared to go swimming at that moment, but there were no lights or signs of movement in the house to suggest so. Assuming the coast was clear, we dived in. Suddenly, a man in his bath robes ran out of his house screaming at the top of his lungs. "I called the police! Leave now! Who do you think you are coming onto my property!?" We jolted out of the water and started running down the street as if we were being chased by homeless cannibals. I turned around and realized the old man was chasing after us. "In the woods!" I yelled, and the three of us shifted into the woods. Arthur cursed at the top of his lungs. I assumed he was feeling the same pain I was. Running full speed on rocks and sticks was not a great experience when you had wet granny feet from the water.

Finally, we arrived back at my place. Never was I more happy to see my house. "I can't believe we got away!" Will yelled in a hushed breathless voice. "Remind me to never do that again" Arthur said holding his side in pain. Seeing Arthur in the state that he was in, I couldn't help but crack a fat joke. This was a mistake because it resulted in me receiving a permanent bruise in the shape of his fist.

From this experience, I learned a great lesson. If you want a mind boggling adrenaline rush, or a hardcore high, don't do drugs. Do pools.
