A Leader, a Hero, an African-American

Armada celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Black History Month.

Rewind through the years. Stop at the middle of 1963.

You and your fellows, mostly African-Americans, are all gathered to listen to Martin Luther King Jr's, "I Have a Dream" speech, not knowing that in five short years he will be assassinated, that one January a day will be devoted entirely to this man standing before you now, that the very words you are listening to will become nationally recognized. You are just watching and listening.

Cheers erupt from the crowd as King says powerfully, confidently, with a fierce strength, "And when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and hamlet, from every state and city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children -- black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Catholics and Protestants -- will be able to join hands and to sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, 'Free at last, free at last; thank God Almighty, we are free at last.'"

Restocking the Why Hat

Is it as good as it sounds?

If you've been to the Trading Post, chances are you've memorized the list of all the hairs, shirts, eyes and arms that everyone's dying for. Some parts sell for hundreds, even thousands of clams.

Out of all these, the most expensive part out there would be the Why Hat. You know, that red and yellow splotchy hat with the W on it? If you wear one and walk into a room, everybody whispers to you what they'll pay for it, and usually no one will take less than 10,000 clams! Nobody ever advertises a sale for long; most Whyvillians are very quick to jump on any opportunity to get this in-demand hat.

But perhaps no longer -- the Why Hat will soon be given out free again; the Why Hat is going to be restocked!

This is Britrules, reporting on what could be the most anticipated restock in Whyville history.
