There are many perks that come with a Pearls allowance:
Your address book doubles in size, allowing you to add twice as many friends.
You can wear 50 parts on your face instead of just 25.
Your satchel will allow you to carry twice as many items.
You get "on-the grass" seating at the Greek Theater (when available).
You can buy animated face parts.
What happens if I don't spend all of my allowance?
Pearls don't expire, so if you have some left over from one month, you can always use them the next month, or the next, or the ... well, you get the idea.
What happens if I have a Pearls allowance and I cancel it?
If you have a Pearls allowance and you decide to cancel it then you will immediately lose your allowance perks. But any pearls that came with the allowance will still be yours to keep and spend as you like.
Can I transfer my pearls to another account?
No, pearls cannot be transferred to other accounts - even ones that you own.
Can I still buy clams?
We have stopped selling clams, but you can use pearls (just like clams) in several stores: Akbar's Face Mall, the Projectile Store, the Brick Emporium, and the Furniture Farm.
Can I change my pearls into clams or vice versa?
Pearls and clams are separate currencies and cannot be converted into each other. You can, however, use pearls to buy items in several stores: Akbar's Face Mall, the Projectile Store, the Brick Emporium, and the Furniture Farm.
What is the difference between clams and pearls?
Clams are earned through games and can be traded. Pearls are bought using real money and cannot be transferred to different accounts. Pearls can be used to do special things on Whyville like buy Face Factory Vouchers and buy and care for your very own WhyPet.
Can I still use clams?
Yes, you can still use clams in all the ways you normally would. However, WhyPets, pet food, pet treats, and pet accessories can only be bought with pearls.
Can I still buy a Why-Pass?
We are no longer selling Why-Passes. If you have one - great! You will enjoy all the perks and privileges associated with a Why-Pass until the Why-Pass expires.
What if I buy something with pearls that I didn't want?
Manage your pearls and your pearls allowances carefully! We cannot undo how you spend your pearls.
My account has been stolen or banished and it had pearls on it. Can I get it or the pearls back?
As a general rule, we do not unbanish or recover 'stolen' accounts, and all items, clams, and pearls on these accounts are lost and not recoverable.
In Whyville, practically all 'stolen' accounts are lost because the user gave out their password. It is very important that you never give out or share your password. If someone asks you for your password we ask that you 911 report them. For more information about this, please click here.
